Chief Architect Changing Floor Level
In chief architect both the floor height of floor 1 and the initial height of the terrain are given values of 0.
Chief architect changing floor level. The amount that the building pad is raised depends on the type of foundation you have built in your plan. The program automatically raises the default floor height of floor 1 up above the default terrain. No foundation the distance between default floor height of 0 and the terrain is equal to the depth of the default floor structure thickness for floor 1. You can easily create a split level in chief architect by controlling the floor and ceiling heights of different rooms in a plan.
Chief architect programs raise the building pad off the terrain for you automatically. To create a split first floor level launch chief architect and open a new plan. Expand the floors and roomscategory expand floor levels then select the desired floor and press edit. Set the ceiling or floor elevations as needed.
Select build wall straight exterior wall then click and drag to draw a simple rectangular structure. However the floor and the terrain are not actually at the same height. Click okto apply the changes. Creating a stage or raised area a raised area such as a stage platform can be created either with a polyline solid or by defining a room and raising the floor height in the room specification dialog.
Make sure you are on the floor you want to modify then under the editmenu select default settings. Select a floor level of your choice then click the editbutton. In the default settingsdialog click the arrow next to floors and roomsto expand the category then expand the floor levelscategory as well. Select edit default settings from the menu and in the default settings dialog expand the floors and rooms category select current floor and click the edit button.
In the floor 1 defaults dialog select the structure panel and specify the desired value for the ceiling for the rooms on the first floor.
