Changing Toilet Floor Seal
Place the new seal over the flange on the floor round side up.

This will help the seal actually seal. That doesn t always provide a good enough bond to the floor. Toilets should be caulked to the floor to prevent side to side movement that can break the wax seal and to prevent splashes or overflows from puddling under the toilet and rotting the floor. Ensure the bowl is level.
Be sure to keep the toilet as level as possible while doing this. Replace the toilet tank atop the bowl and align the shank of the bolts with the holes in the bowl. Lift the toilet and place it over the flange and seal keeping the toilet as level as possible.
Unwrap the new wax seal and place it over the flange on the floor with the round side up exactly centered over the opening. Be sure both bolts are in place. Diyers often set the toilet and then apply a tiny bead of caulk along the outside edge. Installing a new toilet seal.
You will need to either spread out a blanket or piece of cardboard to. Removing the toilet means loosening the bolts that connect it to the flange on the floor. Lift the toilet and place it over the flange. Open the new seal.
Be careful not to over tighten the nuts as it may crack the porcelain bowl. Sit on the toilet.
